THE OPPORTUNITY: |
Making a Worldwide educational Series of videos in
Scandinavia and the United States
THE CLIENT ORGANIZATION: |
The International Marketing Director of ASTRA Pain
Control AB- Stockholm Sweden
BIGGEST HURDLE: |
Organizing Doctors and Nurses from Australia, France,
Scandinavia, and the United States
PIECE OF CAKE DECISIONS: |
Shoot in NTSC, finish in the U.S. and, make PAL and SECAM
masters for International distribution.
SURPRISE: |
We are to shoot the cassette cover art and design the
international packaging and supply printing elements to the
client's London advertising agency. Second surprise: Our
crew in Stockholm had to bail out at the last minute and we
had to move our London crew to Copenhagen on short notice.
No problem with New York or Seattle crews. Great to have
your people in all these locations.
HELPFUL HINT: |
Give European physicians the script a week before so they
can get comfortable speaking English on camera all day.
OUR THINKING: |
Because this was a project that had to be completed in
six weeks --- script to tapes sent to International Sales
meetings in Vienna --- we got the Client to come to U.S. for
review of rough cut versions of all videos in Series. Shoot
NTSC in Copenhagen to keep all field tapes in single format
and save money not having to transfer from PAL to NTSC.
Final transfer picture quality looks good on all
international masters.
FINALLY |
Probably better to scope out the cost of restaurants in
all cities where you have to entertain groups of six or more
for dinner. We asked one physician to recommend something
and it almost broke the budget...great meal though.
